This afternoon I picked up the kids from school and we spent the evening with the Jacob’s family at the San Bernardino County Fair in Victorville, CA. This is an annual fair at the Showgrounds, just like the Royal Easter Show back home in Australia, the fair showcases the best animals, awesome rides and music concerts. We were treated to a nice evening with Lon, Susan and their kids!
Bella & Ty loved the fair, even for me, it’s a time to re-live my younger years of attending the Royal Easter Show. We rode every kiddy ride we could go on, we tried many skill testing games – Ty actually won 2 games over his sister Bella! She was not too pleased to come in second place… Bella is very competitive!
It was nice to hang out with Lon and his family. I met Lon a few months back and we have been friends since. He’s a SBC Sheriff Watch Commander in Victorville, CA. I’ve had ride alongs with Lon whilst on duty, one night we were out for a 12 hour shift… it is interesting to see what goes on in town when you’re sleeping. I even got a tour of the County Jail… you don’t want to get arrested and spend a night in the County Jail! It was an ‘eye-opening’ experience. I am building a piece of furniture for Lon & Susan, a gift for their friendship and support over the last few months. I’m excited to be crafting furniture again, the last time I made a piece of furniture was for the EHM a few months back.
We all had a great night out, the kids are at their mom’s tonight for the weekend. I’m busy with CIA and I’m heading to Malibu Beach on Sunday with a friend for the day.
